NetID Registration - Identity Validation FAQ

You MUST follow the following steps to perform NetID registration on your new enrolment to activate your entitlement to access systems and facilities of the University.

  1. COLLECT your University identity card issued by Human Resources Office

  2. DETERMINE your User Class:
    • Staff - for holders of valid Staff ID Card
    • CPCE-Staff - for holders of valid CPCE Staff ID Card
    • Affiliate - for holders of valid PTEC Staff ID Card
    • Visitor - for holders of valid Visitor Card
    • Long Serving Retirees (LSR) - for holders of valid LSR Card

  3. DETERMINE your User ID:
    • Staff ID Card No. - for holders of valid Staff ID Card
    • CPCE Staff ID Card No. - for holders of valid CPCE Staff ID Card
    • PTEC Staff ID Card No. - for holders of valid PTEC Staff ID Card
    • Visitor Card No. - for holders of valid Visitor Card
    • LSR Card No. - for holders of valid LSR Card

  4. PREPARE the following information:
    • HKID No. or Passport No.
    • Department code of hosting department (not applicable for LSR)

  5. INPUT your User Class and User ID in the form below.

  6. FOLLOW the instructions of the function to complete the registration process.
